I am quite possibly the world's WORST blogger.  Since the "invention" of Facebook and the ease in which it is to network and share portfolio samples, I've kind of left my wonderful blog by the wayside.  :(

Getting Caught Up!

My, my, my has it been a whirlwind of a week this past week! I've been so busy I haven't had time to blog. Craziness! I feel so blessed. :) Remember, though, you can always view sneak peeks on my Facebook Page. It's so much faster than loading, transferring and sharing my story. *tee hee*

I have had a string of some super serious little men lately! And, Mr. {W} was no exception! He finally cracked a few smiles after a 5 minute power nap and some funny jokes about mom! *tee hee* I'd say at 3 months old, this little guy definitely has a sense of humor! :)

It's been just over three months since I had this little dude in front of my camera. Man, oh man, has he grown so much! I couldn't get over how big he'd gotten.

It was super fun photographing Mr. B yesterday. He was all smiles and then tuckered out, allowing me to get a shot of those awesome lashes he has.

Meet the cute little {M}. You'd never know this guy arrived 5 weeks before his due date (2 days ago). He was so alert and curious for the better part of our little session yesterday. But, with a little patience he finally fell victim to my "baby whispering."

Fashion Fridays! | Clarksville, TN Family and Child Photographer

One of the most common questions I get when someone books a portrait session is "What should we wear?"

Well, in an effort to help you decide what would compliment your portraits best, I've decided to try and come up with a post at least one Friday a month called Fashion Fridays.  

If you're like me, you're on a budget and have to get the most bang for your buck.  You want to look nice for your portraits, but you also want to wear something (or purchase) that will get worn more than once.  So, keeping this in mind, the outfits I show as examples will not only be easy on your wallet, but they'll also be comfortable and functional as well.

This week's Fashion Friday is all about the family and the upcoming season - FALL!  Everyone loves to have family portraits taken outdoors when the colors are vibrant and beautiful.  Long gone are the days where you have to wear white and khaki or be all matchy matchy.  Portraits look fabulous when beautiful bold colors are worn and outfits coordinate.

So, I know everyone and their brother owns denim jeans.   They've been worn, so you know they're comfortable.  Check that off your list of things you WON'T have to buy for your outfit.  Then, you're only left with coordinating tops.

Here's an example of a family donned in fabulous fall colors for their family portrait.  All outfits shown can be found at Gap and/or Old Navy.



Remember, this is just an EXAMPLE.  Love the look but don't like orange?  Substitute it for a lovely shade of green or maroon.  Think it will be too chilly for the little girl's top?  Throw a cute little denim jacket over it, and you're all set!

And, don't forget the accessories!!  Shoes are an important part of your outfit as well.  Make sure your shoes are clean and in good shape.  Girls can wear fun jewelry or bows to accent their outfits.  Just have fun with it!

Meet Little Miss {A} - also dubbed by me the perfect angel model.

This little girlie is so pretty (how could she not be with such handsome parents, though?)! She was awake when we needed her to be, and she slept like a rock when we needed her to be. Like a said, the perfect angel!

Mommy & Daddy, thanks for letting me try out all my new stuff. I hope you enjoy your sneak peeks of your beautiful princess. I had a hard time deciding which ones to share, so you got a little more than normal. :D

FREE Session Poll CLOSED - and Other News!!

First, I'd like to thank those that took the time to comment on the post concerning my baby poll. Baby is still baking in the oven, but the POLL has closed as time is very NEAR to delivery!

I will post the results of the winner as soon as Baby arrives!

In other news, this weekend marks the 38th week of my pregnancy. And, as much as I hate to do it, I'm putting my camera down and going on maternity leave for a short while.

I will still be available for newborns as they don't run away from me or the camera, but for the more active tykes and families, it will most likely be the end of June or first of July before I return to work. Keep an eye out for my return post! There may be a prize in it for the first commenter! ;)

{{Ho! Ho! Ho! Merry Christmas!}}

I got to meet Miss Claus today! How exciting! Okay, so it wasn't MRS. Claus - Miss A was way too young and much too pretty to be the little old lady that lives in the North Pole. But, she was just as sweet! Little Miss A gave me a run for my money today, but eventually she warmed up to me and gave me some of her pretty smiles. Thank goodness we have some old Elmo toys!! They ended up being a life saver today.

A little music, a little Elmo, a lot of silly faces, and I finally cracked through Miss A's shy barrier. By the end of the session, she was dancing and talking to me! Talk about progress. :)

I had fun this morning, Miss A, and I hope you did as well. Thank you for putting up with my silly faces and awful dancing - I hope I got some fun images for your mom while we played around.



This one cracks me up! Her little face just shouts "What do you mean Christmas is 22 days away???"

{{Meet the R Family}}

I had the pleasure of meeting the R family today. What a vivacious bunch these guys were. :) We had tons of fun exploring a new place for all of us - everything was gorgeous.

Mr. E - he was a little tougher to get a smile from than his brother, but I think I got a few of them on the sly. ;)

Meet the L family. While Daddy is fighting for our freedom, Mommy is holding down the fort with three kiddos. And, what fine kiddos they are. Mr. T is full of life, Miss Z is your typical big sister, and little Miss M is just the cutest with her big ole blue eyes. Mommy looks stunning to have just a baby (can we say jealous??)!

Little Miss O turned one on Friday, and I got the pleasure of helping her celebrate the day with a Smash the Cake session - and a few other photos as well. How much fun this was! She made my first go at this type of session sooo easy. She's a pro at eating cake and having her photograph taken.

I hope the rest of your day was fabulous, Miss O. And, I hope you didn't crash too hard from the sugar high. ;)

{{Hittin' the Streets - Urban Style}}

Yay! My first ever urban shoot downtown and around. :) I had tons of fun with little Miss A today. She is such a great sport to make all her faces and pose all pretty for me. This was a blast, and I can't wait to try out these locations and others with other people. ;)

{{Hairbows Galore!!}}

I enlisted Miss Z again to model some beautiful hairbands made by Sweetpea & Company. The bows were just adorable, and I think they suited Miss Z just perfectly. She's grown so much in the past few weeks! She was cooing and very animated today. I think K & C are going to be in some big trouble when this little lady grows up. :)

Anyway, here she is - our beautiful hair accessory model.
