Meet the {U} family - they ROCK! They allowed me a glimpse into their fun lives while Daddy was home from the Sandbox.
I had a fun time and laughed a lot ... well, except for THAT moment. :) Thanks for being such good sports! I hope you guys enjoy your little sneak peeks from yesterday.
The love birds all cozied up with one another -
And, their kiddos. Don't mind me - I think my obsession with black and whites is not unknown. I love these portraits of the kids and think they would be Fab-O blown up and hung side-by-side. ;)
And, just for fun! (Don't kill me {A}!)

Testing, 1, 2, 3! | Clarksville, TN Child & Family Photographer
Notice some changes going on? I'm trying to update the look of the blog little by little. I hope to have everything complete very soon!
In the mean time I wanted to test out a post and add a photo with the new (bigger) sizing option.
Cross your fingers this works!

Fashion Fridays! | Clarksville, TN Family and Child Photographer
One of the most common questions I get when someone books a portrait session is "What should we wear?"
Well, in an effort to help you decide what would compliment your portraits best, I've decided to try and come up with a post at least one Friday a month called Fashion Fridays.
Well, in an effort to help you decide what would compliment your portraits best, I've decided to try and come up with a post at least one Friday a month called Fashion Fridays.
If you're like me, you're on a budget and have to get the most bang for your buck. You want to look nice for your portraits, but you also want to wear something (or purchase) that will get worn more than once. So, keeping this in mind, the outfits I show as examples will not only be easy on your wallet, but they'll also be comfortable and functional as well.
This week's Fashion Friday is all about the family and the upcoming season - FALL! Everyone loves to have family portraits taken outdoors when the colors are vibrant and beautiful. Long gone are the days where you have to wear white and khaki or be all matchy matchy. Portraits look fabulous when beautiful bold colors are worn and outfits coordinate.
So, I know everyone and their brother owns denim jeans. They've been worn, so you know they're comfortable. Check that off your list of things you WON'T have to buy for your outfit. Then, you're only left with coordinating tops.
Here's an example of a family donned in fabulous fall colors for their family portrait. All outfits shown can be found at Gap and/or Old Navy.
Remember, this is just an EXAMPLE. Love the look but don't like orange? Substitute it for a lovely shade of green or maroon. Think it will be too chilly for the little girl's top? Throw a cute little denim jacket over it, and you're all set!
And, don't forget the accessories!! Shoes are an important part of your outfit as well. Make sure your shoes are clean and in good shape. Girls can wear fun jewelry or bows to accent their outfits. Just have fun with it!

{Expecting} | Clarksville, TN Maternity Photographer
I was told before taking this Mommy out that she didn't photograph well. I think she lied to me, or maybe she just never had the right person telling her what to do. *wink*
I personally think {D} is a gorgeous expectant mommy. I can only hope these photographs can express her beauty enough. Thank you for allowing me to capture this precious time in your life. I can't wait to meet the little guy when he arrives!
This little dude gets to have a big brother and big sister to come home to. Big Sis tagged along with us this evening and hopped in a few portraits. Here she is holding her little brother. I think she's going to be a second mommy to this little man.

{Busy, Busy, Busy!} | Clarksville, TN Child and Family Photographer
Meet Miss {M}. This little lady will be turning two later on this week, so she stopped by this weekend to have her portraits taken. She brought along Mom and Dad as well and let me take a few of them all together.
I titled this Busy, Busy, Busy! because if you're a parent, you know how busy two year olds can be. Miss {M} did not disappoint! She was so much fun to watch just running around, giggling. She even came up with a pose from the sneak peeks - "Kiss!"
Hope you enjoy them, Mom and Dad!

{Little Brother} | Clarksville Newborn and Child Photographer
If you have had the pleasure of having a son, you know that little boys tend to be curious little creatures. This is oh so true of newborns as well!
Little Mr. {A} was so alert and observant for me today! It was super fun, though, because I got to see lots of his baby blues. Big Sister {A} came along as well and let me play with her just a bit in front of the camera as well.
I hope you enjoy your sneak peeks, Mom!
Just love this visor beanie by Jacklyn at AngelBeez!
He did finally close his eyes and show how cute he is when he sleeps, too! Love those lips!

{Boutique Clothing} | Clarksville, TN Child Photographer
My little dollie and I went out exploring today trying to find the perfect location for her to "model" a fun outfit made by Tazetta.com.
This darling little outfit features a denim skirt embellished with fun ribbons and a long-sleeved shirt with a cute little embellished ribbon flower at the neck line. It is super cute!
An up-close look at the details. :)

{So Tiny} | Clarksville Newborn Photographer
Today I got to meet the sweetest little man ever. Mr. {K} was the youngest baby in front of my camera other than my own little lady. I just love when they come so young and so SLEEPY! {K} was the PERFECT model - he slept the entire time and never once peed or pooped!! Woot! It's a first time for my "studio."
Thanks {L} family for allowing me to share in this precious time of your baby's life. I hope you enjoy your sneak peeks from today's session. Your little dude is one blessed baby to be a part of your family. <3
Can't you just tell he's well loved?

Cousins! | Clarksville, TN Child and Family Photographer
My sister came to visit me this past weekend, so of course I had to try and get some portraits of our kids together. We haven't had a group shot of the cousins since Ian was 6 months old! It's about time it happened - there's two more cousins now!!
For now, here are the big girls and the boys together. I've got some head/eye swapping to do for the group shot. Ever tried to get a cranky newborn and 4 youngun's to cooperate all at the same time? It's a workout, I assure you!

A Fun Pair | Clarksville, TN Family Photographer
Meet this Mom and Son duo. They were super cute together - lots of fun to go around. Mr. {J} was a good sport about things, but he finally gave me a big huge smile when I picked my nose or asked him to jump. :D
Thanks for enduring my goofiness and traipsing around all over. I hope you had fun and enjoy your sneak peeks.

The {T} Family | Clarksville, TN Family Photographer
Little Miss {Z} couldn't get enough of the camera (see below), so she brought her entire family along with her to the railroad tracks to get new family portraits.
What troopers these guys are! They braved the HUGE tiger mosquitoes and sweat bees and the HEAT. Did I mention mosquitoes and heat?? Thanks for enduring the torture for these portraits, {T} family. I hope you'll find they were well worth it.
Aren't they just so cute together??

Happy 1st Birthday, {Z}!! | Clarksville, TN Child Photographer
Today I had the pleasure of seeing little Miss {Z} again to photograph a big milestone - her first birthday!! Boy has she grown since she was last in front of my camera. Who would have ever thought that teeny baby with jet black hair would become such a beauty with blonde hair and striking blue eyes?? I had fun today, Miss {Z}. I hope you enjoyed your chocolate cake as much as I enjoyed watching you smoosh it!
Here she is a year ago -
